Hi Jeff, Could you help me in a question about this receiver? I tried to replace a broken receiver in a Sewel IR kit but as soon as I plug this receiver into the connection block it's power turns off.
The Leapfrog Wireless Audio/Video Transmitter and Receiver System features standard F-connectors and RCA jacks, for connection to any type of TV, new or old. It's like getting a wireless transmission system and a separate RF modulator for the price of one product. Per the manufacturer, the unit only works with its included IR emitter.
I figured it's the wiring, the tip has a wiring what isn't compatible with the Sewel piece, so I open this Monoprice receiver to see if I can get know more about the colors. It is well labeled, so now I know that the red is the 5V, white is the signal and the green is the ground. Unfortunately as soon as I connect them according to this, the status LED turns and remains ON. I tried an other IR Kit, and a Binary HDBaseT device, but got the same results.
I ordered 2 pieces from this receiver, both does the same thing with all the devices I tried. I'm wondering if I miss something or this piece is just simple not compatible with anything except some cable boxes (as I found this in some people's review?) • • on Jun 12, 2018. Works perfect for IR remote extension through walls / entertainment units. I have confirmed that this unit functions 100% with the Motorola QIP7100-2, which is the Verizon FiOS HD (non-dvr) set top box shipping as of November 2012, as well as the QIP7100-1 HD set top box FiOS customers were issued through 2012.
PROS: Great IR extender in a small package, and awesome price point in comparison with a lot of the competition. CONS: It would be nice if a 1/2' piece of double sided tape was included, being that (and this is just my assumption) 90% of all installations will be to the bottom or side of a flat-panel TV.
