When Quicken 2015 was introduced last fall, there were the usual improvements to the Windows version, while the user reviews on Amazon seemed, on the whole, similar to the previous year's.

I purchased a new computer which uses Windows 10. My old computer, using Windows 7, has Quicken Basic 2000 loaded.

Been using that version of Quicken on my old Windows 7 computer for many years. I am unable to load this old version of Quicken on my new Windows 10 computer. Understanding that I will have to purchase new Quicken software, my question is which Quicken software should I purchase (does Quicken even still exist??)??

From where on-line can I purchase it? And will it import all of my existing old Quicken backups, so I can continue doing my finances on this new computer exactly where I left off on the old computer?? I CANNOT recommend H&B Canada on Windows 10.

I too was forced by version change to move to Quicken 2016 H&B Canada after several years successful use of previous versions. The experience was a total failure. My files did not convert well and my bank downloads were a total mess.

The performance of the product was terribly slow. I could not get my reminders installed. I spent hours on the update project myself, hours on hold to support and hours with support. The problems still exist with reminders, investments and downloads (which are now claimed as the banks problem).

All requests for refund were sidestepped. I have reverted to Excel. Before converting your data file to a recent version you need a more recent version of Quicken than 2000. Follow the link provided above by @bmciance and you fill find there is a link provided to download a copy of QW2004 at no charge. Click on that to save the file and then install it. Then follow the other steps provided on that same page. If you are able to then open and convert your file you should still consider moving forward with a purchase of the most recent version of quicken.

If you find QW2004 installs but does not open try navigating to the QW.exe file using File Explorer, Right click it and choose an older version of windows from the compatibility tab. Still may not work but worth a try. Since Quicken 2013 is so similar to Quicken 2016, I will plan to install 2013 and likely stay with 2013 instead of going on to 2016. My concern is to never again let my Quicken software get so old and down level that I have to do all these extra steps to get it current again. And definitely, I will report back next week after I receive Quicken 2013 and upgrade to it. Any thoughts on whether the conversion from 2004 to 2013 should be done on my old Windows 7 computer, and then copy the 2013 quicken files over to the new Windows 10 computer. OR should I copy my Quicken 2004 files over to the Windows 10 computer, just install Quicken 2013 on the Windows 10 computer, and then do the conversion on the new computer?

Previously I could not install Quicken 2000 Home and Business on my new Windows 10 computer. So I continued using it on an older Windows 7 computer I had around. That was about a year ago. 24, 2017) I tried again to load Quicken 2000 from my Quicken 2000 install CD onto my Windows 10 computer in case 'They' had made some updates to allow it to work. Once Quicken was loaded on to my Windows 10 computer, I restored my Quicken data from my backup and all was well.
