Your key is most likely for Spotlight on Oracle Professional, which includes Spotlight on RAC, but you dont need to apply a separate Spotlight on RAC key. It will be enabled when you apply the Spotlight on Oracle Pro key. Go to Help -> About Spotlight, and scroll down to 'Spotlight on Oracle Professional' and click on 'View/change product license' to apply the key. Once you apply the key, exit Spotlight and restart, and if you go back into Help About Spotlight and check the license for Spotlight on RAC, you will see that it is licensed by Spotlight on Oracle Professional.

This is Matthew Phan, systems consultant with Dell Software. In this video, I'll talk about how Spotlight on Oracle RAC helps database administrators diagnose issues in their clustered environments, and we'll tour the user interface. When you connect to a RAC instance with Spotlight on Oracle RAC, you immediately see a key differentiator. We present the entire RAC architecture in one unique intuitive display with metrics in real time.

Hi, I'm not sure if I posted in correct category. I have just installed a program Spotlight on Oracle. I've configured for monitoring RAC with two nodes. But it seems my Load balancing does not work well.

Along the top, you'll find essential metrics for the interconnect and global status. Interconnect metrics diagnose the data flow between nodes in the RAC cluster, whereas the global database components aggregate metrics and alarms from all nodes in the cluster. Across the middle of the screen, I can see each node in the RAC cluster. In this case, I'm connected to a three-node RAC cluster.

To the left of the nodes, we're addressing the needs of diagnosing load balance health. Load balancing can be customized to be defined by logical reads, physical writes, or CPU. This can be done on the fly in Spotlight's Options menu. Along the bottom of the screen, we can see the I/O subsystem, in this case managed by ASM. We also see the cluster's physical read and write on the data files as well as the redo and archive logs. So from one display, we're enabling you to diagnose all these important metrics in real time without having to dive into different home pages, subpages, and so forth.

This will allow you to keep a watchful eye on your cluster's performance, contention, latency, load balancing, and your database performance as a whole. The same Spotlight workflow applies to a RAC environment. I can hover my mouse over a metric to find out a little bit more information about it. I can click on it to get more details. Spotlight will then guide me to further pages if I be more granular data.

Each node in the cluster is represented in the graph with its own color. Back on the homepage, all my metrics are color coded, indicating its current state. I could define or customize the thresholds of these states by right clicking on them, selecting Metrics, picking out the metric I want to customize, selecting the Threshold tab, and customizing the values. Magellan roadmate 1440 driver download. As Spotlight detects an issue, it will trigger an alarm. You can click on the metric to learn more about the alarm, why it was raised, and possible resolutions. And, of course, I go to the Options menu and set up alerts to be notified of issues when I'm away from my desk. I can have Spotlight play a sound, run a script, or send an email to myself.

I still have access to advanced features like predictive diagnostics, top sessions, and SQL and application workload, and I also have integration with Dell SQL optimizer for Oracle. If I want to diagnose a single node in my RAC cluster, I simply click on it, and Spotlight will allow me to drill into that single node.
