There has been many editions of the word board game along that historic metamorphosis, and SCRABBLE has even given in to pop culture, sports memorabilia, and fanaticism.

It's practically impossible. And unnecessary. Collecting some of the older, antique versions of SCRABBLE is more common in the land of lexicon lovers, because it's about appreciation of how it has matured over the years—I even yearn to own some of these classic, hard-to-find editions. I tried my best to find accurate dates. This basic, standard SCRABBLE set has been around since the 40's, and before that, CRISS CROSS WORDS and LEXIKO in the 30's.

Almost every set came with the same basic pieces ( Gameboard, 100 Wood Letter Tiles, 4 Wooden Tile Racks, Letter Bag), even as the years passed.
