I am running a new install of XenDesktop 7 with server based shared desktops (XenApp). We are running older thin clients connecting directly to the server using ICA. If a user is disconnected and they try to reconnect the error is 'Access is Denied'.

The application event is 'Connection validation failed on domain ' for user ' for reason 'Deny'.' The system event is 'A logon to this server has been denied because you have exceeded the maximum number of installed licenses for the%1 feature. The maximum allowed number of licenses for this feature is%2; you have%3 licenses for this feature installed on your license server.' This only happens with our thin clients connecting directly using the ICA-TCP connector.

This does not happen if connecting via CitrixReceiver web interface. I just upgraded last week from VDA 5.6.2 where i had no issues to the 7.6.

Now i appear to be getting the same issue as you guys. At first i was getting 'you can not access this session because you are not the brokered user'. I was logged on locally and was trying to connect remotely. After a reboot it seemed to work. It was working before without an error. This only seemed to happen after leaving the computer for some time.

I then went back a few hours later after after disconnecting and got 'you cannot access this session because no licenses are available'. If i wait a minute or 2 after this i can then get it but do get the error again and it does not try to auto log me in. When i look at the data collector i see no issues in the log but on the computer i see 'Connection validation failed on domain ' for user ' for reason 'Deny'.' This leads me to think its the agent and not the collector as it was fine until i updated and still is for all my VDA 5.6.2 clients. Running receiver 4.2.0.10 SF 2.1 XD 5.6.2 (is this supported with the 7.6 VDA?). Hi there, we´re experiencing nearly the same issue - but randomly.

When a user disconnects a XenDesktop Machine in the evening and tries to reconnect in the morning it cannot be reconnected. Progress bar is displayed, then disappears.

VDA is in unregistered state. When user tries to reconnect i see the following in VDA Eventlog: • Connection validation failed on domain ' for user ' for reason 'Deny'. • ICA Connection request denied because no license is available. • The Citrix Desktop Service is re-registering with the DDC: 'NotificationManager:NotificationServiceThread: WCF-Fehler oder Ablehnung durch Broker (DDC: xdc02.xxxxx.xxx)' After this i get several logs that VDA cannot contact DDC: • The Citrix Desktop Service cannot connect to the delivery controller ' (IP Address '1.2.3.4') After about 2 hours machine goes in registered state again and user can reconnect •.
